When the Fall months roll around, dressing for the weather can be difficult when temperatures can range anywhere between 80 degrees during the day and drop as low as 40 degrees at night, especially here in Atlanta. I’ve found the best way to stay prepared during Fall is to dress in layers and one of my favorite go to items is a vest. Here I’ll discuss 5 types of Fall vests you should consider adding to your wardrobe to help battle the various temperatures during Fall. Plus they are all on sale and under 50 bucks!
The Denim Vest
The casual go to. I have several denim vests and it’s definitely a wardrobe staple of mine – it will never go out of style and can be worn almost all year long. I wear them in the Summer and Spring months over sundresses and maxi dresses and in the Fall definitely with jeans, and even with jumpsuits. The denim vest is my go to when my goal is to dress down my outfit. Here’s a few options to try:
The Sleeveless Blazer
The dressy go to. The sleeveless blazer or blazer vest does the opposite of the denim vest – it dresses the outfit up. I love this vest for those business casual days at work or when I’m trying to dress up a basic top and jeans like the one I’m wearing in this post. Check these options out:
The Long/Trench Vest
The stylish go to. The trench vest made an appearance last year but seems to be even more popular this season. It’s currently available in various colors, lengths and textures. Pairing this vest with other length appropriate items is key. This vest looks great with shorter skirts and dresses, with knee boots, or with jeans. To not lose the appearance of your waistline, pair with tops that stop at the waist. If you are looking to add a trench vest to your wardrobe here’s some great options:
The Drape Vest
The trendy go to. The drape vest will make any outfit look trendy. For simple blue jeans paired with a simple white shirt, the drape vest will instantly make you look stylish and trendy. To add a little extra style to the look, try adding a wide waist belt and paring with a long or statement necklace. Shop these options:
The Faux Fur Vest
The glamorous go to. I noticed the faux fur vest made its come back a few years ago and it has remained consistent as one of Fall’s go to items for layering. I love them because they are stylish but also do a good job of keeping you warm – its amazing how warm some of them can be even without sleeves. Plus, they look so glamorous. No matter the style, faux fur looks amazing with denim but I also like paring them with a super cute A-Line dress, tights, and booties. For a different twist, try laying your faux fur vest over a denim or leather jacket. Check out these great, affordable options:
