New Year Goals & River Island

Happy New Year! This is officially my first post of 2016! Don’t you just love the New Year!?!? It almost feels like the one time in life you get to hit the reset button. All of the bad things and bad habits you were addicted to and confined to come to an end; and you’re able to successfully start and complete that one thing that you weren’t able to complete 365 days prior. Welp, we all know it doesn’t quite work that way, but a girl can dream right?

I personally don’t get too involved with setting a New Year Resolution or believing all of sudden I’m a new person because its a New Year. But I do use this time to reflect on the 12 months prior and take the time to set realistic goals for myself. The New Year is somewhat of a reality check on success and progress. Did I make any progress last year? Do I still have the same resolution and goals from 5 years ago? I’m happy where I am and proud of the things I’ve accomplished so far, but I think we all can relate to wanting to become a better version of current selves and for whatever reason now seems like the perfect time to start! After launching the blog late last month, this year I have so many goals for my blog and business and I can’t wait to see where I am 365 days from now!

Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. Its is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous. Actually, who are you not to be? – Marianne Williamson

Now back to the clothes – THIS JACKET! Have you ever purchased an item that you loved so much you tried to save it for the perfect event but that event never came? Well, this jacket is that purchase for me. I purchased this jacket almost 2 years ago from River Island and I was so in love with it. It was little out of my price range, but it was the last one left and it was in my size, so that means it was meant to be right? Well, even tho I love this jacket so much I’ve only worn it one other time besides the day of this photo shoot. When I started the blog, this jacket was one of the first items I couldn’t wait to share. I recently purchased the boots from River Island and couldn’t believe how well the zipper detail complimented the jacket. Moral of the story is…don’t save clothes…but if you do – you may find the perfect shoes to match!
